NVIDIA Announces Nsight Graphics 2018.6

NVIDIA is proud to announce Nsight Graphics 2018.6! In this release, we finalized our Linux support for full release, revamped the user documentation, added full Windows Redstone 5 API support, and added support for 15 new Vulkan extensions.

Nsight Graphics for Linux has been promoted from beta to full release. This release supports Vulkan and OpenGL 4.5 Core Profile on Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04. In addition, there are a wide variety of extensions supported for both OpenGL and Vulkan. Let us know if there are features you would like to see added on the Nsight Graphics forums!

The user documentation has been a big focus for the Nsight Graphics team over the last couple of releases. The new documentation includes a new structure, new content, and a troubleshooting section. One of the new sections added to the documentation is the Activities section that helps users know which activity to chose and what tasks they can accomplish within each activity.

Additionally, Nsight Graphics has been updated to fully support the new Windows 10 release – Redstone 5 (RS5). This support includes changes to the DirectX12 interfaces and support for the latest DirectX Raytracing (DXR) API in the Frame Debugging and GPU Trace activities.

Finally, 15 new Vulkan extensions were added to the support matrix this release! Apps using these extensions (such as VK_NV_shading_rate_image, VK_NVX_raytracing, etc.) can now be debugged in the Frame Debugger activity and serialized to a C++ Capture. A full list of supported Vulkan Extensions can be found in our documentation.

Beyond these additions, we’ve dramatically improved performance in certain applications..
