GTC 2019: Named a Top Conference for Women in AI

NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC) taking place March 17-21 in San Jose, Calif. is among America’s top conferences for women to attend to further their careers in AI, according to Forbes.

The article, which ranks GTC first on the list, mentions technology conferences are a bright spot in boosting diversity and inclusion for women in tech. It states, “event organizers and technology vendors are creating environments where women can learn from role models on stage, network with peers but also where they can integrate with a wide range of diverse talent.

This year, the conference expects the number of women attending and speaking at the conference to double the amount from four years ago

GTC’s signature Women in AI initiative — dedicated to connecting women working in AI, deep learning, and high performance computing — has events tailored for women attendees, including the inaugural Women’s Early Career Accelerator.

This invitation-only program is designed for those getting started in AI, and features the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute Fundamentals of Deep Learning for Computer Vision workshop. Attendees are also invited to attend a networking event with guest speaker Amy Bunszel, SVP at Autodesk

The sixth annual Women@GTC networking event — which is open to all women attending the conference — will this year feature discussions on “AI Through the Diversity and Social Impact Lens” and “The AI Healthcare Ecosystem.” The topics focus on AI as a cornerstone in healthcare and how this developing technology fits in the roadmap to inclusion.
